Polar Authorisation Instructions for Athletes
Follow the steps below to enable the data captured from your Polar device to flow into the Athlete Management System.
Before we start..
For us to collect your data and place it in the AMS we need your permission. We would like this data so your support staff (and you) can track your training load levels, sleep and heart rate during activity.
To collect this data, Polar needs you to confirm it is OK for us to have this data. When you confirm this Polar notifies us every time you update your info. We also keep a copy of the data in case of error or data loss.
You won't be able to complete this process via the app, it needs to be done on a laptop or PC.
| This is a self "authorise" Integration that is often made available to the athlete on request. If you cannot access the Connected App or Form that the instructions detail please get in touch with your relevant AMS contact so they can make this available to you. |
STEP 1 - LOGIN
Login to AMS
Head to your nearest computer or laptop. Click here to access the AIS Athlete Management System.
Using a web browser. Ideally on a computer, or a tablet.
STEP 2 - ACCESS YOUR PROFILE SETTINGS
Make sure you have your own name in the right hand corner sidebar. Click on the pencil icon to go to your profile.
STEP 3 - AUTHORISE POLAR PORTAL
Select ‘Polar Auth Portal’ from the list of profiles dropdown.
Click on the 'Authorisation Link' button. You will be directed to a new tab.
Enter the email and password for the Polar Flow account and click ‘Sign In’. Follow any other directions that are presented.
THAT'S IT!
Once successfully logged in you may close the Polar Flow window. If you are unsuccessful or have any problems contact your sport’s AMS contact or ams@ausport.gov.au
FAQs
Data is not syncing for an athlete that has provided authorisation.
- The integration can take up to an hour to check for new authorisations and if you attempt to authorise more than once in this time period then it may not be recognised. If this has occurred, you will need the athlete to remove the authorisation from their Polar account and try again. To do so:
- Login to your Polar account and navigate to Settings - Partners
- Click the "Disconnect" button next to "polar Integration - Integrating Polar Accesslink API Smartabase"
