Connect VALD Dynamo
Setting Up VALD Dynamo
What we need from you
You will need to contact VALD support (support@valdperformance.com) to confirm that you consent to TeamWorks accessing your data. Please let the AIS AMS team know when needing to connect to VALD to ensure that TeamWorks are included in these communications.
The AIS AMS team will then work with you to ensure that athletes and coaches have the appropriate roles applied to their AMS accounts.
Mapping Athletes
VALD IDs are used to map people's accounts between the two platforms. When this integration is initially set up, TeamWorks will be able to retrieve and map this information for you. The values are imported into the appropriate VALD Dynamo profile form using the standard import process:
- Open the Smartabase main application on a web browser. Ensure you’ve loaded a group that contains all the people that you’re mapping.
- Select Import Profile Data. Provided you have permission to do this, it will appear as a front page button or within the navigation bar.
- Choose the appropriate VALD Dynamo profile form (we need one profile form per training environment to account for athletes who train at multiple locations).
- Add a CSV file containing the list of people to map and their VALD ID numbers, then click upload. You do not need to generate a template for this task.
- Choose the appropriate identifiers from the drop-down. These will be the columns containing the names of the people you’re mapping. If the names aren’t an exact match, you’ll be able to manually search for and map the correct people to the names in the file.
- Confirm the CSV columns have mapped correctly to the form.
- Click Next, then click Import.
To add people after this initial VALD ID import, you can either add the details for an individual using profile data entry or complete the import process for multiple new accounts at once. Newly mapped accounts will automatically synchronize all associated historical data.
FAQs
How often does VALD Dynamo data sync to the AMS?
-
Every 30 minutes AMS checks for new, modified or deleted data and syncs any changes across.
Data not syncing to AMS?
- Has the athlete's VALD ID been added to the AMS profile form or accidentally been assigned to another athlete?
Will newly mapped users need to be manually synced and backdated?
- No - newly mapped users will automatically sync and backdate historical data
- The connector checks for newly mapped users every 90 mins
What happens when historical tests/trials are updated? Do I need to manually resync?
- No, a manual resync is not required. The VALD Dynamo API supports a "changes since" API call, when a test is updated its "last modified" timestamp is updated as well.
Why is an athlete's data getting duplicated in AMS?
- If an athlete is set up across multiple profile forms (due to training at multiple DTEs) then the AMS will receive data from both accounts.
